George Michael’s album, Faith, was released in 1987. I remember listening to it in the summer time. My youngest aunt owned the tape. That was when the tapes would come with they lyrics, so you can only imagine how much time I spent putting on my own concerts. His music was grown. I have no idea why the adults in my life allowed me to listen to his music, but they did. My mom went as far as buying me my own copy. It was the first tape I ever owned.
This album was the first album by a Caucasian … *Read the rest

I first heard Jason Mraz when MTV overplayed “I’m Yours” between it’s not music related shows. Before I knew it, I was singing along with it. It’s pretty catchy. Here’s the video:
Though the cd’s genre is listed as rock, his music has a bluesy feel to it. Lots of horns. Some of the songs even sound like he has a gospel choir singing back up. His lyrics are simple, unique and meaningful. Other stand out songs include “Lucky”, a duet with Colbie Caillat, “Butterfly” and “The Dynamo of Volition.”… *Read the rest

I’ve been listening to Lloyd every night before I go to sleep. Probably not the best idea considering how sexually charged this cd is- or maybe I’m just horny? Noooo, with songs titled Sex Education, Love Making 101, and Party All Over Your Body, I’m sure it’s not just my neglected hormones. Hard to imagine him singing about the southside now…… *Read the rest

Terrence Howard appeared on the View to promote his new album, “Shine Through It.” He explained that his love of music came first. His agent suggested he act as a way to make getting a record deal more smoothly. That’s when we saw Howard in “The Jacksons: The American Dream” playing Jackie in 1992. In the last sixteen years, Howard has been in movie videos (“Foolish” as Ashanti’s love interest) and more tv shows and movies than I have time to list.

PS heard about a song by Ne-Yo called Forbidden Fruit that was supposedly on his new album, Year of the Gentleman. i wondered how I would’ve missed hearing that song on the cd, especially since I’ve been boycotting the cd and finally listened to it for the first time the night before. The song was supposed to out him. I laughed about it because every time I see Ne-Yo, I always call him gay. If nothing else, he’s definitely in touch with his feminine side, a true metrosexual.… *Read the rest
