I’ve been reading a lot recently. One of the books I had the pleasure of reading is “Accept the Unexpected” by L. Cherelle.
Accept the Unexpected allows readers of all backgrounds and orientations to experience the joys and trials of everyday, same gender loving Black women living in the South. This page-turner reinforces a simple, often ignored truth: all forms of love require genuine affection and sincere emotional connection.
The book kept you interested while moving you constantly forward. It was a quick read, almost too quick. As I mentioned to Cherelle, I did feel as though the story was … *Read the rest

After I brushed my teeth, I turned on the shower and some music. When the water was warm, I stepped in, closed my eyes and allowed the steam from the shower to wake me.

I turned around to face her, … *Read the rest

We turned down an invitation to check out the newest lesbian hot spot. It was Friday night, the end to another work week, and all Jordan and I really wanted to do was be alone. We had agreed to meet our friends for drinks out of a sense of obligation, but we were really itching to spend some serious quality time together.
It had been a long week. We were both feeling the pressure from having demanding careers, needy friends, and family drama. Our relationship was the single bright light in the midst of everything dark, but even that needed … *Read the rest

“Grrr…”
Angela heard a growl coming from the front of the car. She peeped over the dashboard of her rented Jeep, but it was pointless. Her view was obscured by the open hood.
Mayson stood on the other side of the hood. Her big brown eyes glared at the uncooperative engine. hoping that the answer would jump out at her. They had been 45 minutes into their honeymoon when she noticed the temperature gauge start rising. A few minutes later, steam started escaping the confines of the hood, forcing Mayson to pull over.
They pulled off the winding mountain road … *Read the rest
